1. Sarah Louise Palin (nee Heath) was born Feb., 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her family moved to Alaska when Sarah was an infant. Her father, Chuck, is a retired schoolteacher.
2. She attended Wasilla High School where she played point guard on the state champion basketball team. Her nickname was “Sarah Barracuda.”
3. Palin graduated in 1987 from the University of Idaho with a degree in journalism. She worked briefly as a sports reporter in Anchorage.
4. She refers to her husband, Todd, as the “First Dude.” He’s worked as a commercial fisherman and as a production operator on the North Slope for BP. He enjoys snowmobiling and has won the Tesoro Iron Dog, billed as the world’s longest snowmobile race, four times.
5. Palin and her husband have five children, Bristol, Piper, Track, Willow, and Trig. Trig, born in 2008, has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. Her son Track joined the army in 2007.
6. Her favorite meal is moose stew.
7. She comes from a family of outdoor enthusiasts. Her parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, enjoy hunting and fishing, and have both completed marathons.
8. Palin was named Miss Wasilla in 1984 and was a runner-up for Miss Alaska. In 1996 she was elected mayor of Wasilla.
9. She’s a lifetime NRA member and enjoys hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.
10. Elected in 2006, she’s Alaska’s first female governor and the youngest governor elected in the state.

I would add that you and Mr. Obama have something in common in that neither of you have ever served in the military. I think that is worth a comment.

And how is it possible that knowing how to shoot a gun is good?
People, it’s time to stop wanting someone as common and unprepared as the average American to become our president. I don’t want a hockey mom to be the VP of the most powerful country in the world. I want someone with intelligence, enough political experience, humanity, education, and personality.
If Sarah Palin can’t control her own fertility getting pregnant after 40, knowing the possible consequences; if she can’t control her own teen daughter fertility at 17; how can she ever manage to be the US VP???

Ok,I have heard enough, go ahead and bash Palin because her 17 year old daughter is pregnant, and is soon to be married. Go ahead and bash her because she is a 40 years YOUNG person, who still has it in her to reproduce a beautiful child, no matter what mental/physical issues he/she may have. I personally want an “average American”, who knows what it is like to be an American. She is obviously “prepared”. Whoever wants someone who is not as “common” as the average American to run our country is a jackass. Now I am not saying that just anybody can do it, you obviously have to have political experience, humanity, and personality. Palin, in my opinion, has these valuable qualities, and they are stronger than Obama’s.And yes, she is just “VP”. Thank you very much Samantha for allowing me the opportunity to shed some light on this particular subject. Obama, so far in the running for president has had the most controversy. I guess you think,these days,controversy is the most valuable quality our president should posses. I personally am not in favor of his idea of America’s lack of defense. I, personally think disarming America could be the most ignorant strategy yet, but then again that is coming from a “common American”, so i guess you shouldn’t pay any attention to that. Since you are so much more knowledgeable about the wellfare of America. Do you Samantha consider yourself a “common American”?

once again i feel like I’m getting stupider talking to people like you. However, I feel it to be my duty as an American to educate you idiot’s. Please, research a little before supporting a candidate that would sooner try negotiating with evil than standing up against it. I don’t trust Obama with the values of America. Don’t you people remember what America once stood for, not just freedom but morals.Between Obama and McCain, I choose McCain because he has actually put his life on the line for what he is devoted to, America, the freedom of her people, and what she stands for. Obama has said himself that he wants to slow our military’s development of future weapons and take our nuclear weapons off of alert. Do you honestly believe the enemy will do the same. Your a moron if you do. Obama wants to lead by example. Do really think the terrorists give a shit. They want us dead. Forget negotiations with these people. Their minds are twisted, regardless of what Obama says about the war. Bush’s strategy has actually worked. I know that eats you up, but you should be thanking him. there have been a lot of attacks that have been prevented because of America’s involvement.

Right on. I personally do not want a president or vice president of this country who is an actor or a former beauty queen. We need change in this country and it will not come from the McCain/Palin ticket. Now McCain/Palin want to disassociate themselves from the Bush administration and say they are mavericks, but McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time. The Republicans think they are the only righteous, patriotic, moral majority in this country and I for one am sick of it. They also say the word Liberal like it is something to get off the bottom of your shoe, when in fact in the dictionary the word Liberal means “free from bigotry, favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, broadminded, tolerant of others, generous” and I am proud to be one. Also I am an animal rights activist and before I even knew that Palin would be a vice presidential candidate I sent her several petitions from the animal rights groups I belong to because she allows/supports the aerial hunting of gray wolves in Alaska from helicopters for the “rich” hunters of course who can afford this (for those of you who do not know what this is……the hunters are in helicopters with high powered rifles, the helicopters run the wolves in deep snow until they are exhausted and cannot go any further and stop and of course this is winter time so there is no cover or leaves on the trees for them to hide anywhere…at that point the helicopters swoop in low with the wolves looking up at them while they are being blasted with bullets). Also why the people of beautiful, pristine Alaska would elect someone who is so anti-environment is beyond me. Another thing, the righteous Republicans put the shame on Britney Spears sister for her teen pregnancy, but it is OK for the governor of Alaska teen daughter to become pregnant. Was she raised right and sure she will be getting married to the father of the baby. I will believe it when I see it. Her ability to hunt and carry a gun does not make her “qualified” for the second highest office of this country. I guess if the country goes all the way under (we are almost there now) she can feed us all since she knows how to dress out a moose! I feel better already!? Just had to get a few of these thoughts out.

Thank Bush for American lives lost, billions/trillions of dollars in American money going to the war that could be used in our own country, for padding his own pocket. I do not think so. NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION found, does that ring a bell? I do not know of one significant thing that Bush has accomplished as President of this Country in eight years. He has destroyed our relationship with other countries/allies, the country’s unemployment, health care, housing market, foreclosures, gas prices, national debt, etc. is almost beyond repair. Let’s all vote for McCain/Palin and go all the way under.

I found this interesting.
Not one of those facts had any bashing quality of them, yet the obviously pro-Republican comments were all so defensive and claiming they were.
Seems like these “facts” were a test. And they failed.
I would never vote for a ticket with her on it (I’m a Republican, doubting the sanity and intelligence of my own party right now). And it has nothing to do with the fact that she’s got nicer legs than me.
