  2. WOW! That’s Great! glad to see her teaching her daughter where meat comes from and passing on our Hunting Heritage!

    What does PETA stand for?
People Eating Tasty Animals? maybe I should join, I love animals, They’re delicious!

  3. Brad, you’re an idiot.

She’s not showing her daughter where meat comes from, she’s showing her how to kill something without it having a chance.

If she was showing her where real meat comes from, she’d take her to an abattoir and if you love meat so much, you should go to one too.

  4. So … its OK to hunt and kill animals (for fun) but its not OK to medically terminate a pregnancy (for even a serious reason)? Hmm … and we’re in 2008? And this woman might actually rule the world someday! I’m afraid, very afraid.

  5. Hunters contribute more than you give credit to. This is not a senseless killing, and in fact, if you never eaten any type of meat weather it is fish, or mamal, you should not complain about Sarah Palin. Not only is it fair chase, but it is more healthy to eat wild game. I suppose you would prefer raising an animal for slaughter vs fair chase. Here are the facts about hunting in $’s Hunters contribute more to conservation and preserving it, than anyone on the planet. How much did you spend last year to conserving wild game?

Facts and Statistics on Wildlife Conservation
Each day, sportsmen contribute more than $3 million to wildlife conservation efforts. This amounts to more than $1.5 billion per year.
To date, hunters and fishermen have contributed a total of over $17 billion for wildlife conservation.
Hunters contribute over $14 billion to the U.S. economy each year, supporting more than 380,000 jobs. For every 50 hunters, enough economic activity is generated to create one job.
Through over 10,000 private groups and organizations (such as Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever and the Rocky Mountain elk Foundation), sportsmen contribute an additional $300 million each year to wildlife conservation activities.
For every taxpayer dollar invested in wildlife conservation, sportsmen contribute nine dollars.

    ——————————————————————————–

    WHITE-TAILED DEER
In 1900, less than half a million white-tailed deer remained in the nation. Today, conservation programs have returned the whitetail population to more than 18 million.

    CANADA GOOSE
Habitat destruction reduced Canada goose populations to a low of some 1,110,000 in the late 1940’s. Today, there are more than three times that number.

    ROCKY MOUNTAIN ELK
In 1907, only about 41,000 elk could be counted in the U.S. Today, populations in ten western states total approximately 800,000.

    WILD TURKEY
By the early 1900’s encroaching civilization and habitat loss may have reduced the wild turkey population to under 100,000. Today, conservation programs have restored the population to some 4.5. million birds.

    PRONGHORN ANTELOPE
About 50 years ago, the total U.S. population of pronghorn was only about 12,000. Today, conservation programs have helped increase the population to more than one million.

    ——————————————————————————–

Sportsmen Pay $3 Million Each Day For Conservation. Here’s How:
LICENSE REVENUES provide more than half the income, on average, for the state fish and wildlife agencies. The money supports wildlife management and restoration programs, habitat improvement and general conservation efforts.

EXCISE TAXES on sporting equipment (such as firearms, ammunition and fishing tackle) provide over one fifth the income for state fish and wildlife agencies. The funds are used to acquire, maintain and improve wildlife habitat and to make the nation’s lands and waters more accessible and enjoyable to all its citizens.

OTHER INCOME SOURCES include special taxes and receipts from the sale of “Duck Stamps” (required of all waterfowl hunters), income tax checkoffs and interest collected on license fees. Duck stamp proceeds are used by the government to buy or lease wetland habitat for duck, geese and hundreds of non-game birds and animals. This money comes from the states’ overall budgets, supported by taxes paid by everyone (including sportsmen).

SUMMARY: Hunters and fishermen provide more than 75% of the annual income of the 50 state conservation agencies. Sportsmen are clearly the largest contributors to conservation – paying for programs that benefit all Americans and all wildlife.

  6. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. GENESIS 1:26

I don’t see were it says that God gave dominion over another human life.

  7. I wonder if you animal rights activists would stand strong to your beliefs if we dropped you in the wilderness with a rifle and no food?

I wonder how many wild animals would be outside your front door every morning if we weren’t allowed to hunt?

And the idea that the animal population has gone up in Alaska because of Palin’s photo is one of the most desperate attacks I think I have seen so far.

If the only things anyone can find wrong with her is she likes to hunt and she is supportive of a daughter who made a young mistake then what is the big deal. look at the corruption in Washington. Look at all the scandals and controversies surrounding her opponents. She is the best chance we have at making the progress this country needs right now. Heck, I can’t wait till she runs for President.

  9. Good job you should be proud.

The chemicals given to commercially raised animals destined for slaughter are highly dangerous. These include, but are not limited to: penicillin, tetracycline, sewage-sludge which has been “decontaminated” with cesium-137, radioactive nuclear waste and fattening agents.

Cattle are often fed hundreds of pounds of CEMENT DUST to increase their weight before going to the slaughter house. Once the cow has been killed, the carcass is dipped in sodium sulfite to kill the stench of decay and turn the meat red instead of the gray of dead flesh.

American eat more than 300 million dead cows which have been handled like this every year!

I do not think 1 millon cows escaped from slaughter houses this year, unlike the caribou who roam free – hunt on SarahCuda!!!

  17. To all of you sportsmen out there planning on voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin, look at the VP picks stance on the proposed loose-pebble gold and copper mine in the Bristol Bay area. She is a spokeswomen for making sure this mine goes up. It would destroy one of the last great Salmon and wild Rainbow fisheries in the US. With recreational and commercial fishing closures all up and down the west coast, we need to make sure every piece of this vital habitat is preserved. A 896 acre loose-pebble mine (the single most destructive practice of mining), is wrong for the state of Alaska, this country, and the future stocks of Wild salmon and trout. This would put hundreds of Bristol Bay guides and outfitters out of buisness. And when the gold and the jobs created by this mine are all gone. So will the fish. Needless to say I will not be voting for the McCain ticket this year. I was hoping to see a change in the Republican party, this is not it.

Fly-Fisherman and a registered Republican.(Jeffersonian conservative if it still existed)

Sarah Palin is NOT a sportsmen(women)

I guess the liberals in here would rather have the kids plopped in front of the TV playing Video Games. Well liberals can talk all they want, that is the only thing their good at. When comes to putting boot to ass and keeping America safe we the soldiers and the sportsman got it handled. The crazy thing is even though all you liberals run around talking crap about us over here in Iraq. We got your backs to because that’s what real Americans do.

  48. Wow to the people who are shoving PETA in our faces. How do you think we survived when we first settled in the New World? It sure as hell wasn’t by just eating plants and crops! No, the settlers had to hunt for food to survive or else we wouldn’t be here today. Hunting is perfectly fine as long as you don’t shoot it for the fun of it and just leave it there(however, that could be a meal for another animal). Are you saying that youth organizations, like the FFA, are bad because some kids raise animals and then sell them to be slaughtered? Nothing is ever good enough for you people. I don’t think that any carniverous animals are gonna stop eating meat because you told them to, because as you people have said it, it’s technically murdering. We eat meat to survive and hunting is in our nature, they were just spending some quality time together being in the great outdoors, and as someone said, would you rather have you kids inside playing video games?
